TGI Sponsors Broward Childrens Center Miles for Smiles Fundraiser
Posted December 2019
Broward Childrens Center, in collaboration with several community partners, hosted its 16th Annual Miles for Smiles fundraiser, bringing in over $100,000 for the medical, educational, recreational, and therapeutic services provided to 1,200 infants, children, young adults, and families with special needs.
Development and Marketing Manager, Myrna Miott said, “We are so grateful to be surrounded by a tremendous circle of loving supporters who care deeply for our brave children.”
“It was such a pleasure to see our residents, staff, board members, parents, and members of our community come together for our 2019 Walk With Courage event,” said CEO Marjorie Evans. “Though fundraising is the end result, seeing our community and longtime supporters engage with our children was priceless.”
Miles for Smiles provides a once a year opportunity to nurture and protect some of the most medically fragile children in the nation by funding the highly-specialized medical care Broward Children’s Center delivers. This care saves lives and improves the health and happiness of thousands of children. For 48 years, Broward Children’s Center has been providing nonprofit education, medical, and residential services to infants, children, and young adults who are at risk or have special needs. The private nonprofit accomplishes this through community support.
BCC has been a TGI customer for over 16 years. We were glad to be able to support as a Presenting Sponsor. At the event, TGI’s Chad Howard raffled off a Toshiba TV! Miott stated, “As always, the TV was a big hit! You will see one of our residents in the photos so happy to have won. We were also able to raise over $600 in raffle dollars. We appreciate you for making that possible with such an appealing prize.”
Broward Children’s Center is a 501 (c)(3) that provides service and care to infants, children, and young adults with special needs. Since 1971, BCC has operated in Pompano Beach, Florida, serving both local and national children and their families.
